Explorer is a direct recruitment tool for schools. With your account, you can search live candidate profiles, filter by role, experience, location, and access CVs, references, and documents. You control who you contact, saving time and recruitment costs.

Access & getting started
How do I get started?
Contact your Lead Recruitment Adviser or email info@teacherhorizons.com. We’ll help set up your free school profile and guide you through onboarding.
Do I need a school profile?
Yes. Schools need a school profile page completed to at least 90%. This boosts visibility to candidates and keeps our platform professional. Our team will set this up for you and support you in getting the information you need added.
Is it easy to use?
Yes. Explorer is simple to navigate, and we’re happy to provide a demo or training session.
Using Explorer
How many candidates are there?
We have over 150,000 candidates in our database – with several thousand active jobseekers at any given time. Your search results will vary based on filters and time of year.
How do I contact candidates?
Click on a candidate to view their full profile and message them directly via Explorer system. If the conversation moves to email, please copy in candidate@teacherhorizons.com.
What if a candidate doesn’t reply?
Allow up to 5 working days, then contact your Lead Recruitment Adviser. If you message via Explorer or copy us in, we’ll follow up with the candidate within 72 hours.
Who should I share my login with?
Only trusted members of your leadership or HR team. Please inform us of your recruitment team at the start of each season and update us if this changes.
Can I use both Explorer and Global?
Yes. If you contact a candidate first via Explorer, you pay the Explorer fee. If we introduce them via Global first, the Global fee applies. See our T&Cs for details.
Can I click on as many candidates as I like?
Yes. We encourage it! Your response rate may vary depending on timing, role, and location.
Candidate screening & policies
Are candidates screened?
All Explorer candidates are reviewed by our advisers for minimum qualifications and experience. You are responsible for final screening, interviews, and safeguarding.
What if I want to check a reference for a teacher I already know?
We can share their profile link with you at no charge – just let us know before accessing.
How do I know if a candidate is still looking?
We regularly prompt candidates to update their status. You can also check their ‘last active’ date on their profile for a useful guide.
What if I see a teacher from my school on Explorer?
We promote transparency and encourage candidates to inform their schools when job-seeking. We ask schools to respect this professional approach.

How much does it cost?
Explorer has a low annual access fee and a reduced placement fee per hire. Contact us for details.
Is there an exclusivity agreement?
No. You’re free to use other recruitment methods alongside Explorer.
What’s the refund policy?
We expect schools to complete thorough screening. Our full refund policy is in our T&Cs.
